Zibelhan Dağdelen
Soprano
Born in İzmir, the artist was admitted to the Voice Department of Dokuz Eylül University State Conservatory in 1990, where she completed her undergraduate and graduate studies with Prof. Konstantin Lisovsky and her Doctorate in Art (Proficiency in Art) with Prof. Müfit Bayraşa.
Following her formal education, Dağdelen continued her vocal training with Birgül Su Ariç and Arses Yıldızca, and participated in masterclasses led by Paolo Ballarin, Licinio Montefusco, Katia Ricciarelli, and Roman Werlinski.
In 2000, she received third prize in the “Young Talents Vocal Competition” organized by Siemens. The same year, she performed as a soloist at the “Creative Women of the Mediterranean and Black Sea” Festival in Thessaloniki organized by UNESCO, and later at the 1st İzmir International New Music Festival in 2003.
She has appeared as a soloist with the İzmir State Symphony Orchestra, Antalya State Symphony Orchestra, Dokuz Eylül Symphony Orchestra, and Concerto Barocco Chamber Orchestra. With the İzmir State Opera and Ballet, she performed the roles of “Giulietta” in The Tales of Hoffmann and “Rosmene” in Imeneo.
In 2012, she gave a concert with flutist Marc Gruwels at the Brussels Musical Instruments Museum, and in 2013, she was invited to perform with baritone Wieland Satter at the Marsyas International Art and Music Festival. In 2015, she performed in Athens at the invitation of the Turkish Republic Consulate General.
Baroque repertoire and musicals hold a special place in her artistic journey. She regularly performs rarely heard classical works and diverse concert concepts. Her repertoire also includes notable works by Kurt Weill and Cole Porter, and most recently, she appeared as “Grace” in the musical Annie.
Dağdelen served as a jury member for the 13th and 14th National Young Soloists Competitions and taught vocal jazz techniques at Yaşar University’s Jazz Department between 2016 and 2018.
From 2007 to 2021, she served as Head of the Performing Arts Department and currently continues her academic career as a faculty member at the Opera Department of Dokuz Eylül University State Conservatory.
