Suzan Şenol Sayın

Piano

Suzan Sayın began her piano education in 1997 at Dokuz Eylül University State Conservatory as a student of Asst. Prof. Çiğdem Borlak, continuing her studies with Prof. Nilgün Alkan from 2000 onward. In 2005, she performed Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor, K.466, with the DEU State Conservatory Orchestra during the New Year’s Concert. The same year, she participated in the masterclass of Prof. Pavel Gililov at the Salzburg Mozarteum Summer Academy.

In 2008, as part of the “Young Soloists Week,” she performed Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with the İzmir State Symphony Orchestra. Advancing one academic year during her undergraduate studies, Sayın graduated in 2008 with high honors from DEU State Conservatory.

In 2009, she studied with Prof. Dalia Ouziel and Prof. Nadine Delsaux at the Dinant International Music Academy summer course. That same year, she was admitted to the master’s program at the Royal Conservatory of Mons in Belgium, studying with Prof. Dalia Ouziel, and collaborated with Prof. Guy Van Waas, Prof. Jean-Philippe Collard-Neven, and Prof. Daniel Rubenstein in chamber music. She graduated in 2011 with a “Master Spécialisé” diploma in solo piano.

She continued her advanced training with Prof. Elena Lapitskaja at Universität der Künste Berlin (UDK) and with Prof. Rolland Krüger at Hochschule für Musik Hannover. In addition, she attended workshops with renowned pianists such as Martin Berkofsky, Hüseyin Sermet, Ayşegül Sarıca, Milena Mollova, Elif Şahin, Özgür Aydın, and Emre Elivar. Throughout her education, she performed numerous recitals and chamber music concerts both in Turkey and abroad.

Since 2011, Sayın has been on the faculty of DEU State Conservatory, working as répétiteur for violin studios of professors such as Joshua Epstein, Ildiko Moog, and Kartal Akıncı. In 2015, she began her Proficiency in Art (DMA) studies with Prof. Selen Bucak at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory and successfully completed the program in 2018.

Suzan Sayın received the title of Associate Professor in 2019 and was appointed Professor in 2025. She currently serves as a faculty member in the Piano, Harp, and Guitar Department at the DEU State Conservatory.
